Flying is cool, though some people are really freaked out. That fear is understandable since humans are not natural fliers. Still, some people just love the thrill.

There are many different types of aircraft. Larger categories include airplanes, helicopters, lighter-than-air craft (balloons and blimps), and ultralights. The most common for which classes are offered are airplane flying lessons.

If you take classes, be aware that the classes should be pushing you toward licensing. The Federal Aviation Administration sets the rules for all of that. Classes usually fall into two types: instrument classes and flying classes. The instrument classes just teach you how to use the standard instruments on the airplane are not sufficient on their own to get you a license.

Earning a pilot's license can lead to a good hobby and possibly a career. This is also a good license to get if you are planning on entering military service.
