Individual Worship

The individual should dress appropriately for the environment, but as respectfully as one can. Vidar is pragmatic and does not want His worshippers to dress fancy at the risk of their life and health. Since the environment is usually an out of the way place, it may take some trekking to get there and proper adventuring attire is a necessity.

The individual should eat a light meal and be properly hydrated before starting out. This insures that the worshiper will not be distracted by these discomforts.

As quietly as possible, the individual travels to the area of worship. There, the person stands quietly and attempts to still the mind.

Take several deep breaths, slowly and quietly. On the last exhale, softly whisper the name Vidar.

Listen.

There may be sounds around, but try to find the spaces in between them. You seek the ancient silence. It is in that old silence that you will find Vidar.

Let your mind look forward into the far distance, whether space or time.

When done, lightly place a small piece of leather nearby on a natural surface. Say in your mind or in a whisper: "Great Vidar, I leave this for You and wish I could do more. Thank You for Your wisdom."

Turn and leave the area in silence. As you return from your worship, think about your future and what you can do to strengthen the Asatruar so we can serve the Aesir better in their battles and serve Vidar when He rises to power after the battle.
